What is Angel Food?

Angel Food Ministries of Penn Hills here at New Vision Community Church(One Vision Ministries) is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing high quality food for half the price of grocery stores.  IF YOU EAT, YOU QUALIFY!

Comparison-shopping has been done across the country in various communities using a wide range of retail grocery stores and has resulted in the same food items costing from between $42 and $78.

Generally, one unit of food feeds a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month for only $30.00.  The food is all the same high quality one would purchase at a grocery store.  There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.

Also offered are specialty boxes such as steaks, chicken and pork for an additional cost.  Many participants in this bonus program appreciate the expanded choices.  Additionally, there is no limit to the number of units or bonus foods an individual can purchase and there are no applications to complete or qualifications to which participants must adhere.  This opportunity is open to everyone who appreciates a deep discount on quality groceries; there are no restrictions, no applications, and no income requirements.     Angel Food Ministries, like most all other retail grocery stores, also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp program, using the Off-Line Food Stamp Voucher system.

The monthly menus are usually available by the 3rd week of the prior month, i.e., September's menu will be available the 3rd week of August.  You can view the menu at our website.

Ministry Opportunity

If you have a servant's heart and would like to volunteer once a month to unpack the food from the truck, repack the food in individual bags and help carry the boxes of food to cars, we have a spot for you on our volunteer team.  It is hands on, rewarding, and only requires a few hours on one Saturday per month.  Contact Elder Karen N. Craig in the church office for more information.

Ordering Information

If you would like to place an order for food, call our church office.  You will need to fill out an order form.  Payment must be received at the time of order placement.  If you have any questions, please contact Elder Karen N. Craig  at 412-241-6160.
